Monika A Samol DVM MS MS Dipl. ACVR-EDI

I grew up in Poland, where I completed my veterinary degree at the University of Life Sciences in Lublin. My early involvement in sport horses and show jumping competition shaped a lasting interest in equine performance, orthopedics, and musculoskeletal injury.

My training path has been intentionally interdisciplinary. I hold two Master of Science degrees — in Integrative Pathobiology from the University of California, Davis, and in Radiological Health Sciences from Colorado State University. I was the first person to complete a fellowship in musculoskeletal pathology of racehorses at the University of California, Davis, before I started a residency training in Equine Diagnostic Imaging at Colorado State University.

I am a residency-trained, American board-certified equine radiologist with a clinical and research focus on orthopedic imaging and musculoskeletal pathology. I continue to work clinically and collaborate on research at the Colorado State University Orthopedic Research Center and Translational Medicine Institute alongside internationally recognized equine specialists.

Outside of work, I enjoy playing tennis and spending time with my English Labrador puppy, Truffle.
